Helen at the elland brunch was friendly and looked after my mum through out the whole appointment. Mums ears were very… blocked and she has come out hearing a lot better. Helen explained everything to my mum as she was working on my mums ears and made my mum very relaxed. Definitely recommend!read more

In recent years i have used the high street opticians who also do hearing aids. Not being happy with their level of… service i decided to visit Ged at Hearing Check in Sowerby Bridge. The reviews on Ged say it all really, so i wont bother to repeat whats already been said. I will however thank him for providing me with my phonak 90 hearing aids which have improved the quality and clarity of my hearing greatly. I even stream music from my phone directly to my aids. (never been able to do this before) Thanks Ged for your time, care and dedication. You are a credit to your Profession.John👍read more

My mum has just bought some new hearing aids after struggling for many years with battery operated ones. I can only say… how amazing they are. Mum hasn’t been able hear the pitch of my voice with previous hearing aids for many years and for the first time she can hear everything. They even connect to her mobile phone so she only has to tap the back of her hearing aid to answer her phone. This saves her trying to find it in her handbag when shopping. It has given her a new lease of life and we cannot praise this team enough. Thankyou!read more

Really grateful for the service offered by Ged and Hearing Check to my mother. Last year she was told that her ears… were blocked, and we went to Hearing Check in Preston where they used micro suction to deal with the problem, but also listened to her concerns about her ears and her aids. We felt encouraged by their professionalism and care to book a hearing aid check with Ged, and we were not disappointed. Great care, advice and explanations. However, what I appreciated the most was the way Ged made my mother feel – that she wasn’t a silly old lady because she struggled to get Phonak aids in, that there were things that could be done, that she was worth time and attention to try and improve things as much as possible. She knows that at 89 she is not going to be able to do all she could, but she’s not on the ‘scrap heap’ as she puts it – she still has things to do, and offer, and now feels that she can. Thank you Ged. We will see you again.read more

I stopped wearing my hearing aids as they were uncomfortable in my ear and the sound was harsh. By way of back story, mastoiditis at 3 years of age left me profoundly deaf in my right ear & for over 75 years I was… never aware of hearing anything through it. With increasing age moderate deafness developed in my left ear, and I had a single hearing aid fitted 8 years ago. When I lost this I made an appointment with HearIng Check, partly on the basis of reviews & partly because of nearness. Ged undertook a meticulous 90 minute assessment and programed aids for both ears. To my amazement I found I could now hear through my R ear for the first time, a truly emotional experience. The gain in my left ear is considerable. For the first time I can talk with my granddaughter when driving and she is seated in the rear, something my daughter spotted immediately. Conversation in restaurants is now possible, and I’m asked to turn the TV up! The myPhonak controls on my smartphone allow me to tailor my hearing to the present auditory environment. The Bluetooth reception from the ‘phone is clear and convenient. .Losing that old aid was a stroke of real good luck. A genuinely life changing experience.read more

Once deciding to go private for my hearing aids, Ged came for home visits and had everything sorted from my hearing… test, buying process and fitting. Ged is a lovely, polite person and answered all questions and issues I had including a recent remote appointment where he adjusted my hearing aids over the phonak app. I am very happy with his level of care and I know I can get in touch with him with any issues at any time.read more
